Due to our long term time frame in this waste industry, we have an extensive range of knowledge, as we have seen and witnessed the many changes over the years and probably serviced just about everything there is to be serviced in the Great Southern region. However, we push the limits and continue to grow the business and learn as new, more efficient and environmentally friendly systems and sustainable solutions become available in the industry. If we are unable to get the job done, chances are the ties we have created with others in the industry, we will still be able to sort your problem out or point you in the right direction.
In January 2003 we opened the 1st privately owned and operated Liquid Waste Recycling Facility in the Great Southern, fully licensed by the Dept. of Water & Environment (DWER). Liquid waste collected from licensed tankers are disposed and treated through our own purpose built facility, the treated effluent is reused via drip irrigating it back onto approximately 13,000 blue gums without any need for chemical additives during the process. All of this is carried out under DWER and DoH licensing. We believe that with the impact on the environment from previous generations, there is now no reason that liquid waste should continue to be disposed into landfill sites polluting the environment, when there is now more efficient and environmentally sustainable way of treating, recycling and reusing it.
In 2004 DWER brought in the Controlled Waste rules and regulations, meaning that state wide everyone that wanted to collect, cart or dispose of any controlled waste had to apply and meet strict EPA guidelines and licensing. Abbott’s Liquid Salvage is proud to say our treatment plant, drivers and trucks are all fully licensed with DWER and we are audited on a regular basis to make sure we continue to comply with the standards and licence conditions. To date we have never received an infringement or improvement notice. Our last Audit which included our facility, trucks and documentation was held on the 6th February 2017, our result – “Fully compliant with all requirements”.
Fast forward to today and Abbott’s Liquid Salvage are still going strong and continuing to expand our services throughout the Great Southern area and push the boundaries for environmentally friendly services and solutions.
